THE HOLIDAY MENU

Growing up I’ve always loved winter holidays. There’s something inevitably enticing about them…the wool sweaters that drape over silhouettes, the rising steam from a cup of mulled wine, dried spice and citrus wreaths that adorn hallways, the way time seems to slow down and how crisp the air is when you step outside. In a haze of what seems to be holiday chaos, I try to find joy in the small things-the hidden things, the things that generally pass us by day in and day out. As we begin to gather for the holidays, let’s slow down as best we can and continue to spread love, kindness, and joy. Perhaps it’s in hand written letters, words of affirmation to a passerby, small mailed gifts, or boxes of pastry for you and yours-we can each find and gift a little bit of light this season. And, from the depths of my little Italian/Texan heart, I thoroughly look forward to being part of your beautiful memories in the making this holiday season.

Cheers darling pastry lovers,

-B

P.S.

The holidays have always been such a wildly huge part of my life, 100% in thanks to my grandmother. She was such a massive inspiration to me, and to put it rather simply-I would not be who I am or do what I do without having been so close to her.

This is our third holiday season without her, and I thought it would be rather brilliant to link one of her favorite organizations for cancer here. If you feel you would like to donate in her honor, please do! I won’t know if you do or don’t, that’s simply up to you if you want to. Regardless, I just ask that you quietly nod toward Margaret Mary (my grandmother) when picking up your floured goods from us this season and to think of the things you’re thankful for (what she always taught me).

For truly—The Rosemary Bakery simply would not be in existence without having had her beautiful presence in my life for so long. And, I don’t know, isn’t that just something wonderful? Her legacy lives on.

Cheers to you, Grandma
